Jon Acosta wins Rhode Island Senate Primary

We made history

Friends and family, The people of Central Falls and Pawtucket have spoken. They voted for a living wage, equitable school funding, affordable housing, raising taxes on the wealthy, expanding access to drivers licenses, implementing a Green New Deal, and legalizing recreational marijuana. We will do everything in our power to honor their vote. With less than half an hour left on election day, two young men of color—one with his son—walked into a polling place holding our literature in hand with plans to cast their vote for us. It was at that moment we really knew that we were watching history in the making. I'm eternally grateful for the canvassers that worked on our campaign, the volunteers that made calls and knocked doors, and the people who donated the funds that powered this campaign. This would not have been possible without Lesdin, Andrializ, Yedmy, Samantha, Jide, and Jonathan. My colleagues on the CF City Council, Jessica, Maria, Franklin, and Hugo were a great source of inspiration and support. Thank you for believing in me and for helping us make history in our district.
